  We came across this absolutely gorgeous park and tennis courts in Avalon on our bike ride. We did some pull-ups on the jungle gym and took a walk around the baseball field. Grace Murray O’Brien must have been a phenomenal woman to have such a beautiful park built in her memory.
  
  “AVALON –– Grace Murray O’Brien, of Gladwynne, Pa. and Avalon, namesake of Grace M. O’Brien Park and Gardens on Dune Drive and Eighth Street, died at a retirement community in her hometown on March 28, the day before her 91st birthday.
  
  O’Brien, pianist and horticulturist, moved to her summer home in Avalon in 1974 and lived here for over 40 years. O’Brien is remembered for using her talents and volunteering her time to benefit the beautification of the borough.”

  Great park for littler kids. An added bonus is all the available shade that really offers a tremendous reprieve from the hot summer sun.

  Beautiful park, especially if you are looking for tennis courts or fields. I was looking for a playground for my two year old, which was fine here (though not jaw dropping like the other facilities). Wish the bathroom had a changing table.
