Grace Baptist Church of Blue Bell (GBCBB) is an inclusive and caring church! My family and I have been attending this church for 8 years and members for about 6. This is a wonderful church that supports the spiritual integrity of its members by speaking to contemporaneous issues and how it relates to the Bible and God’s word. Pastor David does a wonderful job of keeping his sermons relevant and meaningful; providing a connection to what’s happening today. This is especially comforting now. The musical program is great as it includes both traditional hymns as well as contemporary Christian songs. There is a standard vocal choir, a Praise Team, a bell choir, along with frequent soloists that delight us often.
The Church does a lot of community outreach; some of which is regularly participating with a Norristown soup kitchen, helping at Hope Gardens, providing a place to stay for families going through a tough time with food provided from the church members for a month (usually in March) as well as a full-church community out-reach week called ‘Faith in Action - Don’t Go to Church, Be The Church’.
The children’s ministry is wonderful and includes Sunday School, Community Easter Egg Hunt, a long weekend Vacation Bible School (VBS) in the summer, Community Trunk or Treat and Parent’s Night Out; once a month parents can bring their children to GBCBB and the Children’s ministry team will care for, feed and do crafts with the children for 4 hours for a *very* nominal per family fee as well as many other activities.
The Student Ministry program and Pastor is also phenomenal, with weekly fun-themed Youth Group sessions with activities and opportunities to discuss how God and the Bible has answers in their transitional and challenging season of growth, as well as opportunities for activities (Urban Air) and mission trip opportunities for high school age kids.
This Church offers so much with something for everyone!
I've been a member here for 20 years. This church is like a family. We support each other and the community. I'm not sure what Bruce's problem was (he left a review) but I would love to talk with him and understand why his experience was less than desired. We are by no means perfect, but we seek to help those in need and share God's love with the world.
I've been a member here for nearly 20 years. It's a warm church that's very caring and active in the community and a variety of missions around the world. One of our members runs an arts and after-school education program in Norristown. We participate in various projects to help our neighbor Shady Grove Elementary School. Teens from our church devote a week of their summer (and have to pay to attend) an outreach camp where they come with other teens into a community and help repair homes for the disabled, and elderly, and others who can't afford the repairs. One couple from our church runs a ministry working with the slums of Mexico City, living there, helping people help themselves by tackling the mosaic of problems that extreme poverty heaps on a community. Another couple, runs a ministry in Chile, helping some indigenous people help themselves, again by tackling a variety of issues that poverty creates. We welcome visitors. We can't help or support every person or business that needs our help, but we do our best to do what we can.
