This is a post here put up after Dr. Last's retirement. I feel very lucky to have had him as a dermatologist for many years. A fine doctor, wonderful person. He really took care of my dermatological health. I miss having him as one of my health care providers.
Had some scalp issues a few years back from a bad barber shop. He knew I wasn't making much money, but he still helped me. I've been better awhile now but every time I look at my full head of hair I think of him. Dr.Last is a good doctor and a good man.
Dr. Last has helped to resolve moderate-severe acne with a conservative approach, trying out weaker medicines (while monitoring bloodwork) before ultimately prescribing Accutane over the course of 3 years that I saw him. My only gripe would be that the office tends to be either booked to the limit or overbooked, resulting in brief appointments if you don't make sure to stop him to answer questions, or long waits depending on the day/time of the appointment. If you're patient and persistent in having your questions answered, you shouldn't have an issue.
I have been treated for skin cancer from Dr Last for a few years. I read the other reviews and wonder if they went to the same office. The staff is wonderful, caring and very personable. Also, I have never had a difficulty waiting. As to Dr Last, he is very competent and knew when to refer me to a surgeon for possibly a life-saving issue. His follow up care has been excellent.
