  Nice easy hike with lots of water features. So many trails to choose from and 2 different entrances that I know of. You could easily spend an entire day here. The wind really rips on cold days, so check the Forcast.

  My first trip into the Franklin Parker Preserve was incredible! I’ll have to look into it’s history before it was purchased for preservation in 2003. I parked at the Speedwell entrance and rode my bike on the white trail and most of the yellow trail. I didn’t see many animals but I really enjoyed the diversity of the landscape. The highlight of my adventure was seeing my first blue hole and minutes later seeing another one! I have heard about these sinkholes that expose groundwater but never saw one in person before. I did take a wrong turn on the yellow trail at the south end. I wound up on a farm and had to turnaround after checking the map. Most trails are for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders. Some trails are only meant for hiking like the portion of the 53 mile Batona Trail which was built in 1961 and recently was rerouted through the preserve. I can’t wait to explore the rest of this 16 square mile tract!

  The Franklin Parker Preserve is a beautiful place to go and enjoy the day in nature. Easy hikes and multiple different trails to choose from. Also an excellent place for birdwatching. There are benches surrounding the water where you can watch the birds fly.

  Nice scenic walk with my kids. I come to know about this place through a class by Richard Lewis at B&H. It delivered all he said it would and then some. My children had a blast and so did I. It’s a good walk if you ever just want to walk and explore.

ACCESS AND PARKING: Open daily from dawn to dusk. Equestrian Trails A CLOSER LOOK: To reach a second entrance to the preserve, known as the Speedwell entrance, exit the preserve and turn Right on CR 532, Chatsworth Road. After 0.7 miles turn Right on CR 563/New Gretna-Chatsworth Road. After 2.8 miles, turn left onto a wide sand road, traveling East and park along the treeline to the left.
