  Love, love, love the FIVE STRIDE SKATE SHOP! WHY? It is wonderful that there is a shop within New York City that offers a great selection of skates and accessories and superior repair and alteration services. Thank You Staff for being kind, patient, professional, and diligent - I appreciate all of YOU! (And I even found parking nearby on the weekend!)

  I was recently reintroduced to rollerskating and I received a pair a skates that were bought at Five Stride
  Skate Shop, here in Brooklyn, NY.
  Having a new hobby is great and to have a cool shop close to home that supports your enthusiasm is even better.
  Fabulous staff and great skate options. And if you dream skate, they can make!
  Custom skates are my favorite and this team has come through beyond what I could imagine.

  I had a great experience shopping here for roller skates. There was a lot to choose from and the employee gave me honest advice on how much I wanted to spend on my first pair while I’m learning.

  UPDATE:
  The owner swiftly contacted me regarding this review.
  They reimbursed me for the full amount of the plates as well as the mounting fee. This issue was handled promptly and with care.
  
  MOUNTING PLATES? BEWARE!
  I am incredibly saddened by Five stride's mounting recommendation.
  For a Size 9W Reidell 220 boot they recommended a size 6.50 plate. I am not an expert in plates and mounting but this plate looks TOO SMALL FOR THIS BOOT. The wheel placement that should be closer to the front are practically in the middle. I feel like I am going to topple over. I AM IN TEARS AS I WRITE THIS. As corny as that may sound, please understand I WAITED OVER A YEAR for this boot to become available, price$289 + $26tx ($314.65). The pilot plates were also unavailable for months...finally found them in the size they recommended. I purchased them and HAD THEM SHIPPED TO FIVE STRIDE. plate price ($217.75 + $38 mounting fee and + $35 for shipping ).
  
  MY RECOMMENDATION FOR FIVE STRIDE.... The mounting in the photos below is clearly for young, advanced, agile, and/or professional, skaters. This mount does not provide the proper balance, support, and stability for the average skater.
  IT MAY BE BEST TO STICK WITH STANDARD MOUNTING PRACTICES SET BY THE MANUFACTURERS. YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO CONSIDER DOING A FACETIME WITH CLIENTS THAT CANNOT BE IN STORE, SO THEY CAN VISUALLY SEE WHERE YOU PLAN TO PLACE THE PLATE AND WHERE THE WHEELS WILL END UP, SO THEY CAN CONFIRM ****BEFORE YOU MOUNT****.
  THAT VISUAL APPEARS TO BE CRUCIAL!!!!
  I hope you will take these suggestions and strongly consider implementing them so no one else has to suffer such an expensive loss. I am certainly glad I decided last minute to pass on the all American wheels and new bearings!!!
  
  End Result: I cannot return these plates because it has exceeded 30 days and they have already been mounted.
