  My wife and I can't say enough about our experience with FSBD and would highly recommend them. From the outset of the project (an addition onto our house) we were very impressed by their communication and how they guided us through the process of finalizing design and making material choices. Joe and his team were on top of everything, and were responsive to our decisions and feedback. When the project began, Matt, Tom and Riley were all wonderful to have on site. Matt, the project manager, was very communicative about every step in the process and always answered any questions in a timely manner and fulfilled any asks we had. Tom and Riley, who did the bulk of the work, were very professional and worked hard. Their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and ability to field my (ignorant) questions and requests was top notch. At the end, they had fulfilled everything we asked. Many details we thought might get lost in process were ALWAYS taken care of, and in many cases they had taken care of things we hadn't even considered. We are completely satisfied with the work they did, and we will look for opportunities to work with them again.

  My husband and I had an enclosed 3 season porch and deck built by FSBD. We love it! We had no concerns or complaints during the entire process. I want to send out kudos to Dave and Edward who were the primary carpenters.They were both professional, friendly, thorough, and extremely hard working. Our pup, Indie, loved them, too! I have already recommended FSBD to friends.

  We had our existing screened porch updated with Sunspace screens/vinyl windows and a new porch ceiling. While we had a delay to the start of construction due to an unexpected permitting issue, the end result was fantastic. We absolutely love how it turned out. Dave and crew were skilled and professional, easy to work with. Their attention to detail was excellent. Joe helped us navigate the little speed bump we had to a very good outcome. We could not be happier with how the porch came out and the work that FSBD did.

  The end result of our project was beautiful, well crafted and exactly what we wanted. The sub contractors did a fantastic job and the project manager was a pleasure to work with. Only gave four stars because we had a dispute with the company over the design of the stairs. While the design of the stairs was in the approved blueprints, it was not what was originally discussed, poorly called out in the blueprints and the change never communicated outright by the sales manager. Not only was the design a safety hazard for my small children and dogs, what had been executed to that point was off centered. While the company did correct the issue and ultimately executed to our original expectations, it was not without headache and a lot of back and forth discussions. I would advise all considering customers, to carefully review all designs for consistency and ask questions beyond annoyance.

  I had a small screened in porch that I wanted to turn into a three season room so that I could get more use out of the space. I wanted windows that opened as much as possible. I contacted First State Building and Design, and they showed me the Sunscape brand of windows that open 75% for maximum airflow. The windows also hold in heat when closed so you can use the room in early spring and fall with a small heater. I purchased the matching door with the windows. First State Building was excellent to work with and very responsive. The measurements were perfect. I am glad I made the renovation decision.
