  If you want to spend time in the scenic Berkshire Mountains be sure to make a reservation at the historic Federal House Inn in South Lee, Massachusetts. Gayle and Michael, the gracious, caring innkeepers, have thought of every detail to make your stay exceptionally pleasant.
  
  When you arrive at the Federal House Inn Gayle or a member of her cordial staff will welcome you and escort you on a tour of the first floor. You will enter the elegant gathering room where later in the day you and the other guests will be able to relax and enjoy a wine hour with red or white wine, several kinds of cheese, an assortment of crackers, fruit, nuts, and yogurt-frosted pretzels. (Upon your return from your evening out and about you will find a special surprise in this very room!) Next you will see the charming gift shop. The tour continues in the beautiful dining room where every morning, in addition to juice and coffee or tea, you will delight in a three-course gourmet breakfast, a veritable feast for your senses, presented to you by attentive servers. Finally you will arrive at your suite with its own distinctive personality. A comfortable bed and luxurious amenities will add to your enjoyment.
  
  The location of this lovely bed and breakfast gives you easy access to unique cultural, dining, shopping, and outdoor venues.
  
  I'm looking forward to returning to the Federal House Inn very soon. It feels like my home away from home.

  We stayed at the Federal Inn over Thanksgiving week in 2017. The breakfasts were fantastic, made to our requests, with fresh scones every morning. There were always coffee, tea and cookies available through out the day along with a refrigerator of water, soft drinks and beer. Wine and cheese were always put out before dinner time.
  
  The rooms were wonderful and full of charm. The beds were soft and warm on the cold winter nights. The bathrooms were spacious and very modern. We had a couple of rooms for our family of 6 and they were big enough for all of us to be in one of the rooms and play the game Clue together.
  
  Marcia & Ken were extremely gracious and hospitable. They helped us decide were to go for dinner when we asked. They acted as if they couldn't do enough for us and we felt the same way about them.
  
  We will definitely stay there again!!

  Annie and I are still raving about our wonderful evening at Federal House Inn earlier this month. We connected immediately with Marcia and felt the same when we met Ken. The Inn is so charming and they are happy and helpful hosts. The wine and cheese were just the beginning. Our room was big with a great bed. In the morning they served a delicious breakfast. We honestly loved every minute of our stay. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend there. We have already recommended it to family and friends and plan to stay there during our next trip to Massachusetts.

  We stayed at the Federal House Inn for two nights in late February and had a fantastic time. The owner, Kevin, was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and a pleasure to be around for the entirety of our stay. Upon arriving, he graciously offered to upgrade us to the John Adams Suite. I am very glad we accepted as the room was comfortable, private, and filled with classic charm. I also cannot say enough about Kevin's breakfasts--we had homemade waffles and eggs benedict during our time there. I couldn't believe that included in the price of the stay were such gourmet meals of the highest quality made with all local ingredients. Plus, Kevin puts out complimentary red wine and cookies every afternoon! In addition to the hospitality, the location was also very convenient. Short distance off the highway making it a quick ride to many of the ski mountains/hiking trails. We also had a plethora of great restaurants just up the street to choose from after a long day of skiing. All in all, it was a great weekend getaway that ended in an engagement! We will absolutely be back again and would highly recommend it.

  Brand new owners - same fabulous experience. We were surprised to learn, after our last visit four years ago, that the management of our favorite Bed and Breakfast in South Lee had changed hands. Current Innkeepers Marcia and Ken are amazing hosts and paid attention to every little detail. Breakfasts were incredible, so many delicious choices. (One person in our party requested gluten free food. NOT a problem.) The beds were fabulously comfortable, as was the atmosphere for our entire three day stay. Highly recommend.
