  Our preference when traveling throughout the northeast is to stay at B&Bs because of the unique experience and personal attention you receive from the proprietors. Our experience during both of our stays at Everitt House Bed and Breakfast in Hackettstown, NJ far exceeded our expectations. The high level of detail attended to the exterior and interior by the owners, Don and Ricardo, lets you know immediately that they are deeply invested in making your stay both peaceful and memorable. Here are some of the highlights that made our stay exceptional: the rooms were elegantly decorated with antiques however equipped with modern amenities, the comfortable bed afforded us restful sleep, the second-floor snack bar was fully stocked with coffee, tea, cookies, and chocolate. The varied breakfast offerings were delicious and prepared with care. Whether you are looking for a place to stay for business or pleasure, don’t hesitate to choose Everitt House. Bill and Cindy

  We had such a wonderful time at the Everitt House. We selected the Everitt room and it was gorgeous, though I'm sure they all are. The entire house is beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. Don and Ricardo are so welcoming and friendly. I'm hoping for another wedding in the area so we can stay again. Thank for you a great experience!

  Our stay at Everitt House in Hackettstown was very pleasant.
  The rooms were very clean and comfortable and uniquely furnished with antiques. We had delicious breakfasts in a beautiful surrounding. Ricardo and Don were most welcoming and helpful in every way. If we come back to New Jersey we would like to stay there again. We wish the owners best of luck and many friendly customers.

  Stayed for a few days with my family around my brother's wedding and had an amazing stay! The house itself was incredible well kept, with unique bedrooms, clean bathrooms as well as a cozy communal living room. Breakfast was delicious each morning and the hosts were incredibly kind, helpful and accommodating. I highly recommend staying at the Everitt House if in the area!

  Couldn't have asked for a better place to come stay the night of our wedding. Ricardo and Don were wonderful hosts. Flexible, helpful and communicative throughout the process. They were welcoming and helpful while still giving us space. The house is beautiful beyond words and continues to be upgraded as the owners actively seek out period pieces to add to the place. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean with tons of amenities including bath bombs for the jacuzzi. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was a delight and the choices were excellent. Would highly recommend this experience to anyone.

He built the palatial Everitt House at 200 High Street in 1875. William's first marriage was to Alice Van Horn (1842-1879), the daughter of Tobias Van Horn and his wife Rebecca Stillwell, until her untimely death at the age of 37. He later married Matilda D. Sletor (1861-1947), the daughter of Thomas and Martha Sletor of Easton, Pennsylvania.
