Our father was living alone in senior housing. He is 92 years old and suffering from osteoporosis and 4 fractured spinal discs. Due to his being in poor health we decided that it is best to admit him nursing facility.
My siblings and I are health insurance, and medicade/medicare retards. Luckily we found Grace and her wonderful co-workers assisting us in getting through the health insurance documentation jungle. We supplied to Grace and her co-workers with our father’s required information and they did all the work. I expected the entire process will take a month or 2. To our surprise, our father was admitted in less than 10 days. That was miracle 1.
The day of admission, to our surprise, was on Sunday. We met Candy and Amy, 2 very caring and loving aides. They not only made our father feel very welcome. They also made us feel very welcome too. It was on SUNDAY; we didn’t expect that. We thought we would have to take off from work to move our father there. Sunday, Amy and Candy. Miracle 2.
After our father was admitted, we received updates from Grace on our father’s status. We did not expect that.
We chose Echelon due to there is a Chinese unit. At admission, we were informed that there was no vacancy, once a vacancy opened he would move to the Chinse unit. True to Grace’s word he moved to the Chinese unit. But we were informed of the move at 9:30 in the evening. In Grace’s defense, she had every intention to inform us by the end of her shift on the day of the move. But things got bombarded and escaped her unit she was home that evening when she realized the forgotten task. It wouldn’t have mattered if Grace notified us the following day. It was her sense of duty that she reached out to us the same evening when she was no longer on duty. Miracle 3.
We truly believe that we made the right decision by choosing Echelon Care and Rehab. Our father is in very good hands taking care of him. -

(August 16, 2023, 3:15 pm)Although everyone is nice, she is there primarily for rehab and up to now there has not been much of that at all. It is frustrating. She wants to come home but needs the rehab for that.

(May 5, 2023, 7:33 am)I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone at Echelon Care and Rehab Center for taking care of my dad after his hip surgery when he had to be admitted to in-patient rehab. Anita, Mary Jane, Lydia, Ola, Michelle, Margie, Elijah, Jessyna, Allene, Eugenia Rajvi, Sam, Brian - all of them inclusive of nurses, supervisors, aides, social workers, administrators, OT/PT took care of dad like their own family. They never complained once about cleaning him, feeding him, shaving him, patiently doing OT/PT with him and making him comfortable. My dad was always talking to each of the staff members who entertained him during each encounter. I especially want to thank the administrator Brian and the social worker Eugenia who went out of their way to do everything to make my dad comfortable and receive the best care. Deepest gratitude and lots of thanks to everyone at this really nice facility!
