Eastwind Hotel - Oliverea Valley

My Husband and I visited Eastwind this past April for our anniversary. It was AMAZING! Great location, wonderful host and customer service,secluded enough for privacy, relaxing, a wonderful escape from the city! We had stayed in the main hotel with the lofts. They were new, well maintained, quiet, peaceful. We tried the breakfast baskets which were so cute, and they offer a sauna which was awesome. The only thing is cell phone service is spotty in the Catskills, but hey, what do you expect in the woods, but Eastwind provides wifi that you can use which was good, also it’s nice to disconnect from everything too. We would definitely return and also try there Lake Placid location next!

Eastwind Oliverea Valley was the perfect retreat for a night away for me and my husband. From the moment we walked in the door we were well taken care of. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We were lucky enough to go on BBQ night. Even though the restaurant was packed with locals and travelers a like, we found a quiet corner and devoured a delicious meal with as many helpings as we wanted. We were hungry after a 10 mile hike! The cornbread is to die for. After a filling dinner, we enjoyed the sauna and an early bedtime in the super comfy beds. The simple design and clean lines made for a relaxing atmosphere. The next day we were up with the sun and out to explore the beautiful environs. Eastwind is in the perfect location for exploring nature and the Catskills. We'll be back and are very thankful to the whole Eastwind team!

Really wonderful weekend - they’ve done a great job with this property. Rooms are simple but tasteful and rustic. Main lodge is beautiful and understated - really well-designed and furnished to maximize light and feel intimate. Had dinner at Dandelion there our first night and it was delicious.

Staff are incredibly warm, attentive, helpful and responsive, when needed, and otherwise just let you enjoy your time. Well-located despite being a touch more remote (which is the reason we chose it.) Easy access to all the hiking you might want as well as skiing in
season.

Previously stayed at their other property in Windham, NY. Would definitely return.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Eastwood in Oliverea is a great place to stay with the most welcoming staff and atmosphere! Very dog friendly!

My wife and stayed two nights in a king room with our two dogs. The room was clean and spacious, with a very comfortable bed and fantastic view of the mountain, even this early in the season. I’m sure it’s stunning when everything blooms.

The location does a great job balancing privacy and community, with plenty of space for everyone to break off or mingle. The main building, for example, houses the reception desk, the bar, the restaurant, and a small lounge area, with view of the outdoor fireplace and the soon-to-be pool. We spent a good bit of time here, eating and drinking and unwinding after a long hike. We saw a lot of other guests hanging out here too, playing cards with their kids or sitting by the fire with their dogs. The restaurant got pretty crowded on Friday (definitely make a reservation on the weekends) but there was plenty of space inside and out to relax in with a drink while waiting for a table.

The staff here is SO friendly and helpful. From the start, Izzy made our stay so welcoming. She greeted us when we arrived and offered us drinks in the lounge to unwind a bit, but the atmosphere was so pleasant that we ended up staying for dinner. The food and drinks were delicious! Great flavors and beautiful presentation without feeling stuffy. The breakfast baskets were so cute, and the staff hooked us up with dog bowls, treats, and toys for the pups. Everyone we spoke with was sweet and calm. We definitely felt taken care of every minute of our trip.

My husband and I had a magical time at Eastwind Oliverea Valley! It’s now our favorite hotel in the area. The view from our picture window in the upper King Valley room was absolutely gorgeous and serene! All the thought-out details made our stay extra comfortable: the softest towels and sheets, a luxurious rainfall shower head, the smell of burning wood. The food at Dandelion was to die for, delicious and inventive! But the best part was the people - Bjorn, Chelsea, and our fun and fabulous bartenders who made us feel welcome with the type of warm hospitality you don’t find these days. The saunas (with fun robes) were a treat too after a snowy day. Honestly could have stayed there forever. We will be back! PS - get the breakfast basket, you will be surprised how full of fresh, scrumptious, local treats it is!
