(August 12, 2023, 10:24 am)Our anniversary dinner at Deer Mountain Inn was truly exceptional. We shared 5 delicious dishes, with the sourdough focaccia and homemade ricotta being unforgettable. Another standout was the creamy grits with mushroom ragu. Great wine selection, attentive service, and a unique ambiance make it a hidden gem worth visiting again. Thank you for an amazing and special night.

(July 24, 2023, 10:10 pm)This is a very special place - nothing short of exceptional. This is the best of NYC hospitality tucked away in the Catskills mountains. The seasonal food is always fantastic, wine selection wonderful and the vibe is cozy sophisticated mountain lodge. Thank you Deer Mountain Inn for making my husband's birthday so memorable and for taking great care of us despite the snowstorm, and thank you for giving my parents an incredible first impression of the Catskills on their first night there ever. They are still raving about the food, service and what a magical place this is. It's a place where you forget about the time, soak in the scenery and just enjoy yourself. We can't wait to come back!

(June 25, 2023, 2:42 pm)My husband and I went on 6/24/23 for his birthday. From the moment I arrived my to do list in my mind disappeared. Details in the atmosphere with attentive staff is what made this day experience feel like a mini vaca.
The atmosphere inside: woodsy ski lodge , dim lighting, clean, beautiful weighted doors, balcony, bar, hangout lounge, dinning chairs are a bit flimsy and on the small side, oil lanterns, comfortable and inviting decor
Attire: casual or dressy but not formal
Staff: Attentive, caring and knowledgable. Our waiter knew so much about the food and he shared how it was made and where it is from. It felt like he was personally invested in us having a fun night. Even took the time to have birthday wishes on our table before we arrived. And added a candle to our food. Thank you!
What we ate: 2 burgers (best burger ive ever had), seafood app (fresh), liver pate (would get again), maple pudding ( delightful), to-a-tea cocktail (liked the ginger and presentation but the lemon was lip puckering), a clear smoky pina colada (AmAzIng!)
Outside: winding roads going up the mountain (steep and sharp) but beautiful scenery! The steep 7-10 min hike in the back is worth it! Beautiful panoramic mountain views. Go even higher in the hike and there is a well made shelter with seating and tables. Unbelievably thoughtful that they had nice dry wood ready to light in the handmade stone pit.
I love this place and my husband had a memorable birthday! -

The cheeseburger + fries at Deer Mountain Inn may possibly be the best burger I’ve had in the country. And I have consumed a lot of burgers. The fries were earth shatteringly crisp on the outside, soft and potatoey on the inside. Seasoned perfectly. The other dishes we ordered looked pretty, and for the most part were very delicious also. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the service was not the best. I think the staff was busy preparing for a wedding the following day, so our food was kind of just plopped down, no explanations as to what was on the plate, no real interaction of any kind really unless we asked a direct question. We kind of felt like we were in the way eating there. -

(April 5, 2023, 7:18 pm)A few friends and I recently visited the Deer Mountain Inn for dinner, and needless to say we were blown away by our experience! We shared a handful of things from the menu and were not left disappointed by a single dish. Everything was delicious. Our server Liam was extremely attentive, kind and truly made our experience. He knew the menu incredible well, down to the techniques used to make their drinks and dishes, and made amazing recommendations that we were so happy with. He made our night so special! The hotel itself looks beautiful and would be a great option for anyone looking for a weekend away.
This has been one of my favorite dining experiences to date and I cannot wait to return soon!
