I run the trails here. Hilly and fun. Red is 4 mile loop and red to white to yellow to red is roughly 6/6.2. Great route.
This preserve is a bird sanctuary with many different species. Easy terrain and well marked trails. Open dawn to dusk.
It's the pine barrens and gets a little monotonous scenery wise. Many sections are too thick with brush to head off trail. Ticks are rampant. Lots of wintergreen and blueberry bushes. Some very pretty areas scattered about amidst the pines. Lots of shed antlers. But if anything you plan on doing involves going off the trail, expect to be covered ticks. The nymphs (baby ticks) are almost microscopic and yes they still can carry lyme disease at such a young age.
