I joined compass&anchor active health in January. I have been very happy and highly recommend. It is unlike any of the box gyms I have used in the past. The trainers are all excellent, especially Katrina and Dan who I work with. They are encouraging and listen. You will have an individualized program based on your needs. They are quick to modify if any joint pain or limitation should arise. I am feeling stronger and look forward to my continued progress.
Don't walk but run here! I came here initially because I met Derek in a previous gym but I most certainly stayed because of what he has built here at this specific gym....and to be honest, a trainer named Dan. If you have any fitness goal in mind or want a place that cares about your physical and mental well being, this is it.
Here is the deal...I am a yoga instructor and despise working with weights. As a female, I understand this is a much needed skill (the use it or lose it concept). I also know that I need to be watched when I do anything with weight because my body does some pretty funny things to compensate.
All the trainers here are exceptional. I have worked with Trina, Quint, and Dan. They are here to help you, they are here to motivate you, and they are here to make sure you have a good time, even if you hate working out. Shout out to Mollie as well for taking care of finding times in my crazy schedule.
I am in Small Group Training, which means I train with three other people at the same time. I come twice a week and both times I have Dan as my trainer. First two times I came I was thoroughly impressed with the his capability to take four people through entirely separate workouts based on their personal capabilities and provide thorough explanation of each movement. In just a couple minutes he gives helpful cues and finds ways to personally motivate you. He provides the most effective workout in only 50 minutes of your time. Recently I hurt my shoulder/neck area in my yoga practice. Dan switched up my training and was able to work with my injury in this same small group environment and I am pain free as of today. Absolutely incredible. To say the least there is still work to be done to make sure this injury doesn't happen again but I wouldn't trust anyone else than him to get me where I want and need to be.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this place whether you are a beginner or an expert to working out. The skills and knowledge these trainers provide is invaluable.
This place is a phenomenal place to go and work out. All trainers here are exceptional, Quint is very determined to help all his customers meet their goals and sets up times to frequently make sure I’m hitting those goals.
Dan (another trainer) always helps and constantly pushes me to be better in lifting, form and my goals to get back on the diamond after rupturing my Achilles and having surgery.
Trina (trainer) pushes me to more athletic with her dynamic work outs that require me to more in shape and to also help me prepare for the upcoming season.
Mollie is very understanding when I can’t make an appointment due to my crazy work schedule, she always answers in a timely fashion.
Bottom line is, everyone here is amazing and want the best for me and that was clear from day one.
I would recommend this place to anyone as I already have to some!
I have been looking for a trainer for a while. I was recommended to try out C&A by my sister and she did not steer me wrong! What I found was more than just a trainer. I found a group of smart people that really care about helping you reach your goals in a very comfortable and non judgmental environment. I never thought I’d love to go to the gym this much, but here we are - loving it! On top of all of this I am seeing results. Thank you Quint, Katrina and team for pushing me out of my comfort zone!! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
This was my first time ever working with trainers and the first time I was serious about my health. I led a very sedentary lifestyle. I started as a 45-year-old woman with all sorts of health ailments. This includes, obesity, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, herniated discs, poor posture and anxiety. I was never one to like working out at a gym because I never knew how to use the equipment and I always felt intimidated. I really needed to find good trainers to help me get active again. The trainers at Compass and Anchor are the BEST! They are all at the top of their game, knowledgeable and up on the latest most effective training techniques. The trainer’s personality was exactly what I was looking for. The moment I stepped foot everyone was so supportive and uplifting. They truly care about you and want to see you hit your goals and succeed.
I have been training with Quint and Katrina and have so many positive things to say! Quint makes the workout fun. He is an incredibly knowledgeable trainer. I am so impressed with his extensive knowledge on fitness and nutrition. He always has a well thought out answer to any question I’ve ever asked… He’s clearly an expert in his field. Additionally, He is very personable and caring and keeps me motivated, focused, and challenges me to maximize each rep, exercise. Katrina is very knowledgeable and always gives me great pointers on nutrition. I also love how motivating and encouraging she is. We always have such great conversations. Mollie is the sweetest and so welcoming. If I ever have a problem with scheduling, she is always able to accommodate and is very easy to get a hold of.
I find myself looking forward to working out here and leave feeling challenged. Through this journey, I have more energy. The constant pain that I had in my neck has decreased significantly. My anxiety has decreased and I’m actually able to keep up with my kids. They have completely transformed my life. Thank you for the encouragement and support to feel the best I have felt in years!
If you’re someone who is worried about working out for the first time and just need good people, this facility is worth every penny. These guys are excellent at what they do. They will help you achieve your fitness goals and have a good time doing so. I hope other women — no matter what their age or current ability — come and try Compass and Anchor. I'm so happy I finally found an environment where I actually look forward to going in working out!
