Collective Governors Island - A New York City Retreat

Collective Retreats Governor's Island is nestled in a beautiful location. The rooms were clean and spacious. I highly recommend going when the weather is mild, late October was a little too chilly for us. While we had some issues at dinner, Paige, the general manager was able to ensure that our experience moving forward would be incredible. This type of activity is probably best suited for couples or pairing of friends trying to escape the big city.

I had an incredible stay at Collective Retreats. As a New Yorker, this is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to have a cozy, unique, adventure, free of city life stress. (Obviously I equally recommend this for out of towner’s as well). We also ate at their restaurant and were not disappointed. The burger is fantastic and the dessert even came with gold flakes! The staff made our experience especially memorable. If you happen to encounter Ian, Paige, Liz or Connor you are guaranteed to be in great hands!

Absolutely wonderful & super relaxing!!! We stayed in a Summit Tent. The accommodations were better than we even expected. The staff was great. The food delicious. The drinks amazing. Being next to the QC Spa was definitely an added plus. I could not have asked for a better "glamping" experience so close by. Definitely want to go back to Governor's Island, as well as perhaps visit some other Collective Retreats properties.

This was my first time on governor's island, and my girlfriend treated me to a surprise getaway. I was so impressed! What a beautiful glamping experience. We were greeted off the ferry by Aga who was so hospitable and drove us from the ferry landing to the resort. The food was a bit pricey but was all really delicious. There are really cool and neat little food trucks setup throughout the island. Would highly recommend renting bikes to ride around too. The tents themselves were surprisingly 5-star. The bed was huge and clean, room was air conditioned, plenty of space, coffee station. And they even brought a nice breakfast to our room in the morning. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet and remote getaway close to Manhattan with a beautiful view of the city. Thank you Paige (the GM) for all the hospitality and please thank your wonderful staff from us too.

Who knew such an amazing getaway could be so close to home! We had such an incredible time spending the night on Governor's Island - the staff at Collective was welcoming, accessible, informative, helpful and thoughtful. The tents and decor are so welcoming, the amenities are fantastic. Honestly, it was a perfect night. Pam in particular was PHENOMENAL and so funny. Will definitely be coming back!
