(August 23, 2023, 11:06 pm)When my husband got sick, his immunologist referred us to Jeannie. I went along with him because I figured it would be easier to join him then to try to keep eating what I was eating and have him eating a different diet. I figured since I need to get ready for a knee replacement, that it wouldn’t be a bad idea for me to lose the 50 pounds I have gained over the years since menopause and my sedentary last job.I have to say that the way in which she got us to change our habits was so gradual and contained so much important information that I begin to lose weight before I even knew it and I never even suffered. Our dietary changes never felt like a diet. Which was strange, because i have dieted all my life. I am a Weight Watchers lifetime member, I’ve done all kinds of different fad diets throughout the years and overexercised. When I see my husband eating a Greek yogurt with blueberries and granola, I STILL think there’s something very strange going on with the world. But really, the change has been slow and OVERALL lifestyle changes that we both underwent as a result of seeing Jeannie. She still tells me I need to eat more vegetables and I try. She Still tells me, I should probably lift weights more often, she is correct. When you go to see her she measures out your body fat and muscle mass the correct way which I know because I am a nurse, and she shows her your progress throughout. She’s also not judgmental and you never feel bad about yourself even if you haven’t had a great week. Within eight months I lost 45 pounds without even craving the stuff I normally crave. I didn’t even crave the foods I love and find comforting the first week. I find that unbelievable. I decided to post this now because I just saw something on television that reinforced everything we have been taught by her. Like I said, it didn’t even bother me. I never felt deprived. Initially we had to figure out a different way to shop but that wasn’t hard. We were both mildly motivated. I wouldn’t say strongly motivated. Even with that said we still both lost weight him 40, me 45. I think I have definitely had a better outcome with my knee surgery than I would have if I were I 45 pounds heavier. My husbands is in remission (mostly because he has an awesome doctor) but also because that awesome doctor referred us to her….and we resisted ….well mostly he did! And now he’s no longer putting the food in his body that make him fat, he builds muscle just from his diet and he is in the best shape of his life. I think I am too. We have done it the right way this time. Thank you Jeannie and I’m sorry it took me so long to post this.
