Great selection of new and used books. Looking forward to reading my new find. Waiting for Aphrodite.
Canio's Books is as if an angel picked up a bookstore in Greenwich Village in the 1950s and planted it, unchanged and unchanging, in Sag Harbor. Canio, Maryann and Kathryn make everyone feel at home among stacks and stacks of books. In a world gone made with electronics and instant gratification and being high-tech, Canio's is an oasis of hope and enlightenment. Viva Canio's.
Fantastic little book store, wide ranging collection, a jewlbox book store, full of the unexpected. I love to go and browse, although impossible right now (note to the future: written during the covid pandemic of 2020), they have been recommending excellent books on the shelf and ordering anything unavailable.
Lots of poetry by local poets, among other local authors.
Good selection of kids books, political science, history, but the kids books have saved us.
I cant express how appreciative our family is that they are operating in this (explicitive deleted) up time.
Do shop there, they couldnt make it easier to get books, and like, besides food and shelter, there's only books to keep us sane.
Super friendly owners who curate a very eclectic selection of thought-provoking and mind-bending literature. Easy beach-reads all the way through to life-changing biographies. Great atmosphere, stacks full. Lots of scheduled readings. Especially loved the recent event with Skip Raeback and Gerard Doyle. Gorgeous sunset after.
A true Sag Harbor institution. Great selection of used and new books, plus amazing events/lectures every month! The owners are friendly, knowledgeable and committed to contributing to the local cultural scene. Always worth a visit!
