(August 29, 2023, 2:56 pm)CAL Sports has continually done a great job for my kids and their development in basketball. We have done training for years (since 2015) and did the in-house leagues for the past 2 years. The coaches and the instruction are excellent, the teams were well distributed, and the leagues were always competitive. Additionally, the focus on leadership and being a good teammate has always been part of the training and instruction. If you are serious about your son or daughter’s basketball development, I would highly recommend CAL Sports for them.

(August 10, 2023, 8:59 am)I have worked for Coach Corey since September 2020. He is a great leader and mentor. He has changed the lives of so many, kids and adults, and continues to give everything he has to everyone in the community. It is amazing to see the growth these kids have had from clinics, leagues, summer camps, and training. CAL Sports is a great place to develop confidence, work ethic, and basketball skill. I am very lucky to be a part of it.

They teach traditional values of team building and confidence as well as fine tune skills to develop well rounded players. Year round training courses and summer camps are offered to keep the kids moving. So thankful we found this organization for our son!

(March 26, 2023, 2:24 am)My kids played their first season of bball last year, after which something “clicked”. Never before had either played a sport they liked or even wanted to watch. To continue their interest, I signed them up for CAL clinics. I’d never heard of CAL sports but randomly found it on google.
The first few clinics were tough. The classes challenged them in a way that no other teacher, rec sport, or parent had. They cried, failed, and were embarrassed. And yet they persevered. They learned to dribble, move the ball between their legs, and do layups. Each of these stands out distinctly in their minds, remembering clearly the point in time that they couldn’t do any of it and then the point in time when they could.
But in those early clinics, my kids learned more than just rudimentary skills. They learned what it takes mentally to improve in anything, and that tough criticism can be constructive when delivered with care and a meaningful message. Criticism doesn’t equal dislike.
This message continued through the year in the programs with Corey, Cordell, Jordan and Ethan. These coaches continue to respect, joke, and teach my kids. I also learned a lot from Cal. I know that I don’t need to go to all their clinics and practices. I can just drop off. But in going, I learn how to motivate my kids.
Fast forward one year… my son is noticed and valued. He was their leading rebounder in his rec league. He was considered part of their starting line up and was selected for their all star team.
My kids aren’t all stars. They still have a lot to learn. But their transformation in one year is nothing short of amazing and that is 100% due to CAL. My son, who wouldn’t even dribble last season, scored 18 points in a single game. He was so proud. We were so proud. Not bc of the points. But bc of his growth in determination.
Cal sports isn’t about just students who are the norm with natural athleticism. It’s about teaching the average kid self respect and that anything is possible. -
