  Beautiful 18th century mansion in Matawan with significant history related to the revolutionary war. The property also included slave quarters, shining a light on the mostly untold history of slavery in the Northern states. In fact, New Jersey was the last Northern state to abolish slavery when Governor Ward signed a constitutional amendment on January 23, 1866.
