  My now 93-year old mother has been at Brandywine for 4 years. The transition from independence to assisted living was very difficult for her. She was mad at me for many years, but I had no choice. I am an only child and we live on opposite coasts. She kept falling at home. My mother loves nature and I chose Brandywine because it is surrounded by a lot of greenery, and has lovely places to sit out side or stroll.
  
  The staff at Brandywine is very attentive and they try hard to motivate unmotivated seniors with activities. For me, the case worker Kathy Hauser, has been my savior. She realizes the distance between my mother and I and is very attentive to her needs and connecting with me as needed. Honestly, I don't know if I could have survived this transition without her. She has never let me down. She's a great communicator, positive-thinking person and she gets things done, calmly and efficiently. He's very adept at crisis management and has a calm and loving demeanor. I can now rest assured that my mother is well-cared for 3,000 miles away. I highly recommend Brandywine at Huntington Terrace.

  Our parents have been residents at the Brandywine Senior Community in Melville, NY for the
  past nine years. They have enjoyed the amenities of independent living and made valued
  friendships with both residents and staff. The environment is very caring, inclusive, and
  supportive to all aspects of senior living. Since mom passed a year and half ago, the staff has
  made an extra effort to look after our dad. This has helped him deal with the loss, and gives us
  a sense of comfort knowing that he is well looked after. Brandywine has become our extended
  family!

  I moved my parents into Brandywine last summer, as my father's health, and my mother's memory, were fading. He has since passed, and it's so important for her to have the good company to get her through every day, and the daily activities keep her occupied. Their home had an attractive yard that my mother enjoyed viewing, and so we felt that the beautiful grounds at Brandywine would make her happy.
  It's valuable that there are nurses, and regular Dr.'s visits, to supervise her health concerns. Nurses Stephanie and Jeff keep an eye on things and always make time to talk with me. I no longer need to attend several Dr. appointments per month. I find the care managers are more companionable than most home healthcare aides were.
  She seems to like the food, mostly conventional American dishes. Her health is better now than at any time in the last four years.

  If you have a relative with dementia or alzheimer's then you know the challenges the come with caring for him or her on a daily basis. The staff at Brandywine, from the case manager, Kathy H., to the AL & MC coordinators, to all of the nurses and aides, to the friendly and helpful people that assist at the front desk, to the maintenance guy, Lloyd, all provide exemplary care for my mom. I rest much easier knowing that even when I'm not there with her, I know my mom is safe, secure, clean, fed, groomed, and well-cared for.

  So happy to have my 101+ year old mother at Brandywine. The diversity in activities and enthusiasm of the staff is excellent! They engage with the residents well like family! Some standout staff are John, Robert, Tara & Nancy. I applaud their strict adherence to keeping the residents and fellow staff healthy and safe! My only complaint is with housekeeping and providing ample supplies (ie: toilet paper & paper towels).
