  I can’t say enough about Jan and her assistant midwives. Although I was unable to have the planned home birth we hoped for, the prenatal care I received and labor support was unmatched. Jan is exceptionally skilled at her craft and never had me doubting her ability for a second. She is extremely knowledgeable, confident, capable, and detailed. Always available for questions, even during postpartum. I never felt rushed or undermined at any point under her care. I couldn’t have asked for a better, more holistic approach for my pregnancy and labor.

  Jan was amazing! She helped me bring my Little man Earthside, in March. She help me through everything I needed prenatal wise, she was very much above and beyond there for me postpartum as well. Always available to answer any questions, and extremely personable. She was definitely exactly the person I needed through my journey, and I’m so thankful to have been able to have her as our midwife. I would definitely definitely recommend her to anyone in the area looking for a wonderful midwife!

  I feel so very fortunate to have found Jan. She has been our midwife for both our children, with our second being born in the safety and comfort of our home. Jan is an incredible wealth of knowledge and skill, and we felt safe and cared for during our entire pregnancy and delivery. I truly cannot recommend her enough. She is gentle, professional, kind, amazingly capable, grounded, intuitive, and has a humble strength of spirit. If you are considering an alternative birthing experience, I hope you will consider Jan!

  This was my second child, due end of 2015. My oldest was born 21 years prior, let's just say I was very young and it was an awful hospital birth for me in the 90s.
  But I was so incredibly lucky to have found Jan for my second birth. I was at my 30 week checkup when my OB blatantly told me that he had no desire or motive to follow the birthing plan I developed. On my way home from that office visit I found Jan online and was very impressed by what people had to say about their experience with her. Jan agreed to see me within a week. My other half and I met with her and knew right away that Jan not only had the knowledge, confidence and experience to provide us with a healthy birthing process but Jan also gave us the option to bring our daughter into this world in our own bedroom.
  I went into labor at 10pm on my due date and was able to reach Jan right away. My birthing experience at home went smoother than I could've ever imagined. It was better then any birthing plan I could have written myself. I get teary eyed just thinking about it. Everything was done in a gentle and professional but loving manner, and the follow up care that Jan provided was exceptional. No matter what my question she was there to make sure it got answered. Jan supported me to have the strength and confidence to listen to my body as it went through the birthing motions and the courage to do whatever it took nurse my daughter. The day that I gave birth is now one of the best and most memorable days of my life versus what could've happened in the hospital with a birthing plan that was not respected.
  I can't thank Jan enough for all of her hard work and care, and I can assure you that choosing her as your midwife would be one of the best decisions you could ever make. We are very grateful❤️

  Jan was my midwife for both of my births. One with my daughter in 2013 and with my son in 2016. I came to her as a client who previously researched alternative options to a hospital birth and found her bio on a maternity center's website. she saw me for my checkups and was hands on and friendly. for both of my births I chose a water birth at the maternity center. Jan and her student at the time, were encouraging and supportive. my first birth took about 14 hrs. Jan already had a delivery that day and must have been tired. but not once indicated it or showed fatigue. I had extreme back labor with my daughter and Jan helped me through that. My daughter was born and had a little trouble breathing. Jan helped her and she was fine. After we went home the next day, Jan followed through with us with a home visit and helped fill out paper work for the birth certificate. Because I had such a great experience with Jan the first time around, I knew I wanted her to be my midwife with my son. This time around I was with a different fella who never experienced natural ways. Jan was very receptive and tried to make my husband feel comfortable about the future birth. my son was born in 7 hrs. after his birth my husband and I noticed he had some deformities. Jan was hands on all the way to the NICU at Children's were she was concerned for our lil one and for us. throughout this year we discovered my son has a genetic disorder that went undetected in my ultrasounds that I did get at a hospital. Jan remains in contact with me to see how things are going and I appreciate it. She has been a blessing and I am grateful for all her wisdom and expertise. If she didn't move to a different state and I was to have more children, she would have been my first choice. She is a great Midwife!
