  We had a beautiful home water birth with Birth And Beyond! I'm so very grateful they were able to take me on as a patient at 35 weeks along. I was happy with my other providers but knew with ever changing COVID-19 hospital policy that it would be impossible to have the birth we wanted in the hospital. We were so comfortable and so happy to settle into our own bed after my dream home birth ❤
  Vicki and the birth and beyond team took great care of us and did everything they could to catch us up quickly to be able to prepare our home and establish a relationship with us with very limited time.   When we learned we were pregnant... we knew what we wanted our birth to be like.
  I was very clear from the beginning that our vision was to have a natural home birth.
  
  My partner was 100% on board and we spoke to a family midwife friend for advice. She recommended Birth and Beyond.
  
  I looked at their website and made an appointment.
  From my first meeting with Vicki I felt like I found what I was looking for.
  
  We communicated well, we understood each other and spoke the same language.
  
  Whenever I left my wellness visits I felt positive and cared for. I had confidence every step of the way that I was in good hands.
  
  Yes birthing is unpredictable so a few of my appointments had to be rescheduled because of births but it was no big deal. The back office personal was helpful and caring. They answered whatever billing questions or scheduling concerns I had.
  
  I found the group thorough and operated like a well-oiled machine.
  
  I liked the down to earth touch and the authentic styles of both Vicki and Cheri.
  
  They offer 3 mandatory meetings that both parents attend. These meetings are held with 5 or 6 other couples expecting babies and the meeting is chock full of Information about the process. It’s a great forum to ask and receive answers to questions.
  
  Having a home birth requires quite a bit of prep. There are many things to prepare for. Although they give you a list and walk you through everything, it’s your responsibility to prepare your home with the supplies for the birth.
  
  We highly recommend renting a birth tub it was wonderful and so helpful with pain management.
  
  We also benefited greatly from the placenta encapsulation service.
  
  The post birth pediatric care is excellent and the best part of having a home birth is you don’t have to leave your house until you’ve rested at least 2 weeks!
  
  Birth and Beyond offers a wonderful service with caring, devoted midwives who have 20+ years of expertise to support whatever your home birth vision is.

  I have nothing but amazing words about birth and beyond. The midwives here were absolutely amazing. I always knew that I did not want traditional care. As a young woman of color and a veteran, I am used to being dismissed and having little to no autonomy in my healthcare and I wanted better for my first child. Cherri and Vicki were absolutely amazing from the first visit. I mainly met with Cherri throughout my pregnancy, but had met with Vicki about 3 times during orientation and 2 other group visits, and all of my interactions were awesome. Cherri always made me and my partner feel like she was excited for our babies arrival and always gave me answer to any of my questions. Vicki kept things very real, which both my partner and I greatly appreciated. We hate interactions that feel fake and sugar coated and Vicki was always real, firm and to the point which helped me to trust her judgment.
  When the time came for my birth Vicki was on call and although I had built an amazing connection with Cherri, I am happy she was there for me. The energy in my home was cool and relaxed. Her birth assistant was awesome as well. I felt supported and empowered and ready to meet my daughter. Unfortunately my daughter did not want to come out. My instinct told me to go to a hospital, something just isn’t right, she should have been here by now. It was like Vicki read my mind. At around the same time I was going to talk with her about it, she pulled me to the side to have the same conversation. We decided I would go to the hospital and she came with me and made sure that a plan of care was put in place and I was settled in and in good hands before she left. She checked in with me and the midwife at the hospital after delivery and continued to check in. Although my birth ended up at the hospital, I am so happy I went to birth and beyond. It was an amazing experience and I still feel supported. If and when I decide to have another baby, I will surely be going to Birth and Beyond. I could never imagine going anywhere else. Both my partner and I are so grateful for this practice and hope more people become comfortable with midwives and home births.

  An amazing experience working with Birth and Beyond! I am forever grateful for their passion and professionalism to guide and support me while my husband and I welcomed our daughter into this world. They were so wonderful during our prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have a homebirth experience!! I honestly can’t imagine why anyone would opt for any other care during pregnancy.

  I had a very good experience with Birth and Beyond. I knew that I wanted a home birth this was the only agency in Connecticut I could find. From my first appointment at 10 weeks to my last 6 weeks postpartum, I felt supported and validated. All of my concerns were listened to and addressed and I felt confident in all the midwives. I had an uncomplicated labor and I was able to call the shots as I saw fit. I never imagined I could feel so empowered and comfortable during childbirth. I have moved out of state or else I would already be working with them during my second pregnancy.
