(August 4, 2023, 7:58 pm)Pretty good size parking lot and even when it's filled people park alongside the road which seems to be allowed. I didn't see any tickets it's a great access point for several mountains worth climbing.

(May 29, 2023, 8:52 pm)Large parking area at the end of paved Big Hollow Road. About 16-20 cars in the main parking area with spillover to roadsides. The trail-head provides access to Black Dome Range trail, Batavia Kills Trail, the Long Path/ Escarpment trail and is used as a starting point for hiking several Catskills High Peaks ( Blackhead, Black Dome, Thomas Cole and Windham High Peak)

(July 30, 2020, 8:09 pm)Great hike with kids to Acra Point - 3.4mi RT with 800 feet of elevation gain. Connects to the Long Path between Windham and North-South Lake. Trails are well marked and there are way less people than more popular hikes in the area. Views at Acra Point in Summer are limited with foliage - better in the Fall. Look for wild blueberry and raspberry patches in late July, blackberries in August.

(March 12, 2018, 12:56 pm)Very popular parking lot for 4 Catskill peaks: Windham, Blackhead, Black Dome and Thomas Cole, and some other destinations. In the winter, the lot is closed but about .25 miles before it there is a snowplow and bus turnaround where you can park along the side.
