    I interviewed 3 different trainers before booking with Belinda. I have two rescue boys. One is about 11 and it has taken us 7 years to bring him out of his shell, from a fearful, timid and cautious dog to a beloved family pet. Given his journey I just couldn’t go the route of a shock collar on him. Our other boy is so small that I couldn’t imagine the shock collar the trainer let me test on myself around this little guy’s neck.
    Belinda came over for an initial evaluation with a totally different attitude. It was all about positive reinforcement and teaching me how a dog may perceive the training. My dogs loved her and were always excited to see her at the door. I recommend her and hope to work with her again.

    Finally, a dog trainer that WORKS!

    I tried to self-educate reading and watching Caesar, Doggy Dan, and Brandon McMillan. Nada.

    We adopted an “easy” dog from the human society 18 months ago who was not easy. She soiled in the house, was dog aggressive on her walks, and filled with anxiety.

    Not having dealt with an anxious dog before, we tried so many gentle methods, but weren’t getting a consistent result.

    What I love about Belinda is that she teaches you dog psychology so you better understand what your pet is experiencing and what they need from you to do what you’re asking.

    And she also teaches YOU the correct process for training (and how consistency and LOTS of repetition is essential).

    In our case, we were expecting our anxious dog to get the cues we were used to giving to the non-anxious dogs we’ve had through the years. Yet, those tried and true cues were not her language. We had to learn her language…once we did. MAGIC!

    We have just returned from a five week road trip where we took our anxious dog everywhere - six different AirBnBs and not one accident! Hiking, public areas…no dog aggression.

    The only time she freaked is when she saw a cat running across the road - gotta give her that one as a pass - that’s a hard situation not to want to chase. It will be our next opportunity to work on together.

    Thanks Belinda! We have a great dog and now she has great manners,too!

    I learned so much about my behavior, as well as my dog’s during training sessions. Huge difference after only 4 lessons. My dog is a rescue so I didn’t know much about his background but that didn’t matter! Belinda’s methods can apply to anyone willing to learn and practice!

    Belinda is amazing! She’s so easy to work with, brought treats for my dog and was very quickly able to identify patterns in my dog’s behavior. Within the space of an hour she helped me to work with my 8 year old terrier to have her calm, able to sit in her crate and not be so reactive. We still have some practice to do, but Belinda left us some detailed homework and checks in to see how we’re doing. I’ve stuck to the plan she provided and am seeing great results after just a few days. I’d thoroughly recommend Belinda!

    Belinda was patient with our Minka, who is very high energy. In four sessions, Minka was placing, sitting, lying down, and staying on hand commands while we walked out of the room. Best of all, Belinda trained us to avoid reinforcing unwanted behaviors. We're still working on loose leash walking, but we made more progress in four weeks with this style of training than we had made in three months with two other trainers. Be prepared to work at short daily sessions on your own with your dog, though! Her methods get results!
