  My wife and I are first-time boat owners this year. We purchased a custom 2021 Monterey M4 from Bassett Yacht and Sales Boats in Westbrook, CT.
  
  We wanted to take some time to share our experience with Dianne and her extremely professional and courteous staff. Being our first boat purchase, we weren’t really sure to begin, so we did quite a bit of research on the Internet and decided that Monterey might be a good choice due to the high-quality craftsmanship and good reviews. We selected the M4 based on where we wanted to drive the boat and the type of water activities we are interested in. Bassett Yacht and Sales Boats is a Monterey dealer that is close to us which is how we met Dianne Bassett, owner of Bassett Yacht and Boat Sales.
  
  From the very first time I spoke with Dianne she was personable, knowledgeable, and very patient, despite our obvious lack of boating experience. Dianne took the time to ask appropriate questions such as: where we planned on doing most of our boating, how many people would be on the boat, and the types of activities we wanted to do with the boat—really getting to know my wife and I and ensuring we made the proper boat selection and didn’t pay form something we did not want or did not need. Dianne also kept our budget in mind when making her recommendation. All the while Dianne was not guaranteed a sale from us but she treated us like long-time customers: always answering questions and making sure that we understood the specifications of our order before placing our order with Monterey. We are very thankful as well that Dianne suggested we place our order early to ensure we would have the boat in time for the next boating season.
  
  Dianne and her staff were very flexible. We were able to look at an M4, she had in her showroom, a few times before making a final decision. This is where we met Mike the shop manager. Mike was very personable, professional and just as patient with our first-time boating questions: from everything about the M4 to what we might expect during the Connecticut Boater’s Safety Course.
  
  Dianne and staff provided an exceptional buying experience. She even helped us through the process of financing and insuring the boat to provide a real “turn-key” product. We have a little over a month or so to go, but we cannot wait to get on the water with our new home away from home and cannot express enough thanks to Dianne for making this happen and making the process very easy and relatively painless. We are very proud and happy to be new members of the Bassett Boating family!

  The owners, Diane & Paul, are fantastic. Their personal touch & involvement through the entire process made this single best large purchase experience I can recall. From the moment Diane reached out to me with a “welcome to the family” all the way to Paul personally delivering the boat & explaining every detail, I am left feeling very fortunate to have found them. Highly recommend.

  Diane and Paul were very accommodating in setting up a time to see the boat. They also highlighted all its features and differences from my existing boat and another one in the showroom. Once the weather turned to spring and I wanted it to be delivered they juggled their schedule to get it done. I’m sure that they did that for many of their customers tired of the long winter and longing for spring. The boat arrived very well prepped and Paul once again described its equipment and operation of the boat. I highly recommend Bassett.
