My name is Gian-Carlo Kama, I am an international student playing college soccer here in the US. Unfortunately I tore my ACL a couple months ago, and I had to go through surgery and physical therapy last summer in France. And when I came back to the US, I was looking for a physical therapist in the US. I found out about Barbell PT, and I had a great talk with Ryan. He helped me pursue my reeducation during a few months. We would meet in person every other week and he had me workout on my own thanks to an app where he would posts exercices daily. I had a good time with him and I have fully recovered and I am playing college soccer again, so I highly recommend !
I went to Ryan because I have a major loss of lateral meniscus and even loss of some articular cartilage. When I started working with Ryan, I could not do any activities that required any quick change of direction or lateral movements for more than 30 mins without incredible swelling in my knee. Ryan gave me a full breakdown of what exactly is happening with my knee and walked me through a comprehensive plan to get me in the best shape possible without going down the route of surgery. I have now been working with him for almost a year and I plan to continue working with him as the results have been great in relation to realistic expectations! I highly recommend working with him first before considering surgery for your injury, it can save you a lot of time, effort and cost that comes with surgery and rehab. Even if you do go the surgery route, I highly recommend your post op rehab is with Ryan.
I was recovering from a recent shoulder dislocation injury and was hoping to find a place that would meet my athletic needs to get back on the field stronger than ever. I'm happy to say that Barbell Physical Therapy provided just that. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, and understands the unique mindset of athletes to want to get back to performing at their best. I'm so happy and impressed with my results, and am lifting more than I was prior to my injury! I would recommend this group to any athlete who has sustained an injury and is looking for a recovery pathway that will get them back on the field, on the court, or in the gym.
I am very glad that I went here for physical therapy for a persistent mobility issue in my shoulder and wrist. The goal was not just to insure I was had mobility but that my training was not impaired any longer because of mobility issues.
Dr. Ryan was very helpful in getting full mobility back in my shoulders and wrists so I could perform Olympic weightlifting moves without limitation because of mobility. The exercises both in the office and at home were helpful in achieving my mobility goals.
After trying traditional physical therapy in a clinical setting for my hamstring injury without much success, I decided to try a different type of therapist who has experience helping athletes and weight lifters overcome their injuries. I’m really happy that I made the switch! My therapist met with me for a thorough consultation and evaluation before recommending a treatment plan. I received an email after each session with the exercises I was expected to perform at home until my next session. After 10 weekly sessions, my hamstring injury is almost completely healed and I can run again without pain! They also offered a convenient payment plan and multiple treatment session packages. If you’re an athlete with an injury, I highly recommend calling Barbell Physical Therapy.
