  Found this restaurant during my google search hunt for African food. The owner is very hospitable and kind. The food was delicious! Very enjoyable, flavors on point and not salty. I got the “Red Red” dish, which consisted of beans, red stew and sweet plantains. Yes, the plantains were sweet! Nice and tender as well! Please tell your family and friends about this amazing place. You will not be disappointed. Thank-you Michael for your delicious foods and service!

  EXTREMELY DELICIOUS. The chef is so hardworking and it truly shows on the deliciousness of their food. The literal existence of this spot blesses NJ. 11/10 best egusi. The food is AMAZING and extremely delicious and flavorful. The meat is perfect, CHEFS KISS fr👩‍🍳😘

  I love this place, the food is so authentic and everything I’ve eaten here has been so good. My favorite is cassava leaf fufu with chicken. I tried goat stew which was amazing. The pepper soup is also really good. Michael, the owner is a very nice guy too

  I had a wonderful time at Asanka! Chef Michael was amazing- he took the time to explain the dishes and also made suggestions on what to get. We had Egusi soup, one with chicken and one with trout. Also had fufu and Iyan and a side of sweet plantains. I came all the way from Brooklyn, NY. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

  I just realized I'm using my mom's company's Google account lol but I'm Marinel 😁Just got back from ghana and missed the foods I don't know how to cook yet. This place really lives by thier name with integrity and love in thier food. Def worth the trip.. GO CHECK THEM OUT!! So good! Second location in Newark NJ
