I tried everything to keep my 60 year old husband with EOA at home for as long as possible. After making the excruciating decision to move him into a memory care unit, I chose Arden Courts in KOP. From the minute that I met with Alexis to discuss the possibility of moving him in, I was immediately put at ease by the depth of insight and expertise she and all of her team members had with dementia patients, and the special care needed to keep them happy, healthy and safe. Nicole, the executive director has clearly set the tone at the top and every single team member, including aides, nurses, activity leaders, front staff, chefs and housekeepers are compassionate, caring and experienced. Many of the staff have worked at Arden Courts for many years and are prepared for any situation. I trust the entire staff with my husband's care. Dannita, the director of nursing, and her staff including Buffy and LaFonya, works tirelessly to keep patients cared for medically. The care staff are all loving and compassionate. I am grateful especially for Chris who always puts his arm around Rick and says "come on Rick" when he needs assistance. Brianna always has a hug for me and is always smiling and helping. Tawanna has formed a special bond with Rick and she goes the extra mile to care for him. There are so many beautiful people at Arden Courts and while it is difficult to mention them all by name, I give loving thanks to Myra, Kamira, Destiny, Sky, Miami, Luke, Diana, Mary, John, Julie and Shannon. Sincerely, Christy Adams
Arden Courts was an amazing home for our father. He loved the people, the homey surroundings, the freedom to move around—inside and out—in a safe and enclosed environment. I only wish we knew about Arden Courts sooner. I highly recommend Arden Courts for anyone looking for a memory care facility for their loved one. The people, their dedication, and the facility is second to none.
My 94 year old father was in Arden Courts for approximately five weeks with late-stage Alzheimer's. Alexis was so welcoming and kind, with great communication skills. She really made the transition easy and stress free for both Dad and our family. The aides always made sure Dad was clean and comfortable. Arden Courts does a great job making sure all the residents participate in community activities and that they get out of their rooms. Their outside pavilion was enjoyable when visiting along with their walking area. Amanda and Crystal from hospice were incredible, really special people. They brought in massage and music therapy which Dad loved. Thanks to everyone at Arden Courts. You gave us peace knowing Dad was safe, clean, and comfortable!
I want to give a big thank you to Alexis, Nicole and the entire staff at Arden Court. Families are often at their wits end with searching for the most appropriate dementia care community for their loved ones. Alexis and Nicole make the transition to their community easy and straightforward. Alexis is one of the most caring and knowledgeable individuals in the senior care industry. Nicole is very involved and responsive with family needs. I rest my head at night knowing the residents in her care are in the right place! Thank you ALL for what you do every day to help seniors and their families.
Arden Courts has been an absolute blessing to our family. Watching a loved one decline and turn into a version of themselves that is unrecognizable is always upsetting. The entire team of Arden courts have been patient, loving, and supportive of our transition to needing full time care for our Uncle. All the staff is wonderfully skilled and fully understand the needs of dementia patients and I feel confident that the care he is receiving is better than what we could provide at home, even with services. Alexis (Admissions) and Nicole (Executive Director) have gone above and beyond any expectations I could have had from traveling to our home for the initial assessment to facilitating a quick transition from hospital to home to Arden Courts to ensure the safety of our Uncle and his wife. When finding a placement was looking bleak, Arden Courts was they provided hope and peace for our family. Careful consideration of the selection of room, room decor, and comfort items were considered to ensure a safe and comfortable transition and reduce possible triggers for my Uncle’s type of dementia. Additionally, I have noticed personally that Arden Court provides nourishing meals and snacks in a homely setting. The activities are fun and geared to preserving brain and body function. There are activities focused on religion for those residents that are interested. Lastly, the medical and support staff and friendly and supportive of the residents and family and really take the time to get to know the preferences of each individual under their care. We know our Uncle is being take care of like he is family to the staff and that made the entire transition so much easier on our family and we are forever grateful.
