  AHHHHHH, IT’S SO MUCH MORE THAN A FACIAL! The Winter weather makes my face feel so dry, and my skin look blotchy and red (Rosacea), tired and dull, so a friend told me that I should absolutely get a facial... specifically a Signature Seaweed Escape at Apothecary Spa & Wellness. It had been so long since I had a facial, I really didn’t know what to expect.
  
  The EXPERIENCE started as soon as I walked down the stairs on the left side of the renovated 301 Wellness Building, and entered the first level. I immediately felt calmer as I stepped in, as I was met by soft music and Dawn’s welcoming smile.
  
  As I undressed and slipped on a gown, the low lights, relaxing sound of trickling water, and the scent of candles and lavender infused the room, and had me taking a deep breath in and EXHALING MY WEEK. Terrible drivers, not sleeping well, hectic schedule, long work hours, I reminded myself you need this wellness treat. Don’t rush through THIS part of your day. You know where I’m coming from.
  
  Once getting me comfortably laying down, Dawn MASSAGED an organic essential oil cleanser onto my skin with just the right amount of pressure, then applied a warm towel compress. Oooh. Then she examined my skin with literally a magnifying glass, asked me some questions about my skin, and gave me a CONSULT on exactly what type of exfoliation and mask treatment I needed. Since she is one of only a handful of ONCOLOGIST-CERTIFIED AESTHETICIANS in the state, I felt confident in her look-see for any serious issues.
  
  Then came then MICRODERMABRASION which exfoliated the dead skin cells and extracted (think vacuum) any bacteria and blackheads. That was honestly, all I was expecting. But wait… there’s MORE!
  
  After, she applied an OIL Massage, rubbed this KANSA WAND thingy on my face to improve circulation, added a SEAWEED SERUM massage, and then brushed on a warm MATCHA MANUKA HONEY MASK (which smelled so delicious, it could have been my dinner!). While the mask was working its magic, Dawn placed heated pads on my eyes, and with a SOOTHING, HEALING TOUCH proceeded to massage my décolleté, neck, scalp and my hands! I didn’t want it to end.
  
  She eventually did have to remove the Mask, and gently pressed another hot towel on my face. Finally, Dawn applied customized serums and moisturizers geared to address my specific skin issues, followed by spf and ph balancer. My skin looked and felt amazing, the redness disappeared, and my whole body was relaxed and renewed. You MUST experience this for yourself, or give it to someone you love, or both! I’m going to book this regularly... for me!
