  I am a guy in my 60's with extensive martial arts training. I am in the best health of my life in part because I am a member of the amazing Aikido class lead by Tim Vazquez! No matter what age you are, you can still practice using his methods. I enjoy the philosophy and culture of Aikido.
  
  SMT is an intense, incredible workout in a short period of time. I am loving it!
  
  Tim is, without question, a phenomenal instructor who works extremely well with you no matter what the level of accomplishment. His knowledge, mannerisms, fine-tuned skills and overall mastery of the arts make it an honor and pleasure to be a member of his classes.

  A high level aikido school! Tim Vazquez Sensei is an incredible teacher with a long list of extensive, practical experience. The existing students are always welcoming to new students. Beginners or veteran practitioners, you will not be disappointed - check this place out! Visitors are always welcomed!

  My first experience with ACNJ Manasquan was over 16 years ago when I had the opportunity to attend an Aikido demonstration at the dojo (then located in Brielle). Soon after this memorable event I was enrolled. From that moment on, I have developed an immense respect and amazement for the talent and generosity of the individuals and instructors at this location, especially Chief Instructor Sensei Tim Vazquez. With an extensive law enforcement and defense tactics background, Sensei Tim integrates these experiences into his classes with an emphasis on providing a full body workout. During these unique classes, the traditional martial art form and strong history of Aikido remain the foundation.
  
  ACNJ Manasquan is also extremely well connected within the Aikido community, starting with its membership with Aikido Centers of New Jersey headed by Sensei Greg O’Connor, who is directly affiliated with the Aikikai Headquarters in Japan. Many students of ACNJ Manasquan have been welcomed in to and trained in dojos across the United States and the World! No matter what location an ACNJ Manasquan member trains in, the feedback is always the same, they showed good technique and were prepared for anything. This is all thanks to the tremendous and diverse training that Sensei Tim offers!

  I did some research before deciding to practice Aikido at the ACNJ Manasquan dojo. I chose this dojo because Sensei Tim Vazquez, 5th Dan, is a certified FBI Defensive Tactics instructor and has an extensive law enforcement background. He trains Defensive Tactics for law enforcement professionals so there is always an emphasis on practical effectiveness, something I was looking for in a traditional martial art. He teaches the full spectrum of Aikido, from soft, to hard, to powerful flowing techniques.
  
  The dojo itself is very traditional with a kamiza hand-built by one of the students, and a large practice area covered in good quality tatami mats. Once you walk in the door you immediately want to get onto the mats and start training.
  
  This school is part of the Aikido Centers of New Jersey, a group of dojos under Chief Instructor Sensei Greg O'Connor, 6th Dan. Membership at ACNJ Manasquan includes membership at all 9 locations in NJ and PA. I have found the instructors at these schools, and their senior students, to be very supportive and welcoming during my Aikido journey, and I have made many new friends along the way.

  Aikido Centers of New Jersey - Manasquan teaches a traditional martial art with modern practical application. All of the instructors, especially the chief instructor, spend plenty of hands-on time with the students to make sure everyone learns something new in every class. Its a great all-around workout as well, with a strong focus on cardio. Cross-training in the offered yoga classes is a nice complement to the training.
