(June 13, 2023, 9:22 am)I have four Burke 'safari chairs' made in Scotland by Arkana (now defunct) from mid-60's, and they were really showing their age, especially the fabric-backed vinyl upholstery, which had been brutalized by pets. I searched for almost two years for someone to reupholster the seat assemblies of these highly desirable and collectible chairs, without any takers, before finding Maria's shop; she readily accepted the commission to reupholster the seat back-cushion sets. She had a great range of appropriate materials, and the chairs came out beautifully. I highly recommend Affordable Design for upholstery and restoration of furniture.

If you need something redone don’t hesitate to stop in and see Maria, she has fabric in her shop or you can look at the numerous samples she has and she gets the fabric in quick! You can also bring your own fabric to her. She also has a quick turn around time with your pieces. She does amazing work, you will not be disappointed. I love my matching wing chairs!

(April 24, 2022, 3:43 pm)I purchased a piece that Maria reupholstered in a beautiful fabric. A wingback chair, she did an awesome job. Its a solid stylish piece and very comfortable. I loved what she did I brought a rocker for her to work on, with the same fabric. I cant wait to see it.
